A ROCKING CHAIR CALLED BUSY
A ROCKING CHAIR CALLED BUSY Just because we are "busy" doesn't mean we are effective. We hear people all the time talk about how busy they are. "How are you?"
"oh man, so busy."
"Really? What have you been busy with?"
"I mean, you know. This and that. Life. Just busy." Now yes, we have a lot going on in our world today. And a lot of what is going, is simply a distraction.
LOTS AND LOTS OF DISTRACTIONS. But how effective we are will be determined by how well we can sift

EMBRACE THE OBSTACLES
EMBRACE THE OBSTACLES One of the first video games I ever played was Mario Bros. for the first Nintendo system. Early 90s...of yea!!! Mario, the greatest plumber ever, jumping around, collecting coins, rolling through pipes, finding those power ups, crushing evil, leveling up on his hunt to save the Princess. Great times. Tons of fun. Figuring out how to beat certain levels or obstacles or "bosses" was what made the game fun and worthwhile. The challenges in Mario, and in ANY

PUT IN THE TIME
PUT IN THE TIME ➡️ Watching a movie on Hulu....2 hours ➡️ Binging a series on Netflix.....7 hours ➡️ Dedicating a Weekend to football....8 hours ➡️ Learning a skill or obtaining knowledge that will help you reach a goal and live a fulfilled life....PRICELESS. When was the last time you wanted to learn something? Think to that moment, take yourself back there. You went to YouTube to learn how to do ___________. You put it in the search bar, and then you saw multiple videos, wh

LEAD FROM THE TRENCHES
LEAD FROM THE TRENCHES When you look back into the history books, One of the celebrated heroes is Alexander the Great (356-323 BC). Now while he was not a perfect man, actually he had many defects of character, but one thing he was incredible at was leading his men into battle. It is written that "his cavalry were his 'companions.' His infantry 'loved the King and he loved them." Alexander the Great won many battles for his country, and he did so not from afar, but from the b

My "SELF" is not yours, it is MINE.
My "SELF" is not yours, it is MINE. SELF-doubt
SELF-esteem
SELF-awareness
SELF-sabotage Only you know where you stand with the phrases above, but the amazing thing about all of them is power to change lies with the common thread: SELF. No one else is in control of those things. Your SELF is yours. My SELF is MINE. I have the ability to control my Doubt, control my awareness, control the level to which I sabotage myself. There are a lot of things in life that I have ZERO CO

BUILD THE WHOLE HOUSE, NOT JUST THE LANDSCAPING.
BUILD THE WHOLE HOUSE, NOT JUST THE LANDSCAPING. Here we are on Facebook. The beauty of Social Media. I'm sure you have IG and Twitter and Snapchat as well. And I can almost bet, that you have recently had a talk with a friend or coworkers about how people are fake or superficial or lack substance. We are all aware of the "false advertisement" of people lives that they provide. While social media is a recent invention, this concept of people wearing masks is nothing new. In 1

NO APPROVAL NEEDED
NO APPROVAL NEEDED When I was in elementary school, and I had to go to the bathroom, I raised my hand, the teacher would call on me and they'd grant me permission, and then I could go to the bathroom. (Fun little story, huh? ....haha.) I was required to get approval, I needed the teacher to say it was okay for me to do what I needed to do. They had to grant me permission to go to the bathroom. Now, I no longer ask permission to go to the bathroom...haha...but I did find it ne

STRUGGLE IS INEVITABLE
STRUGGLE IS INEVITABLE. When I moved from Metro-Detroit to Los Angeles, I knew it was going to be a struggle. I knew it wouldn't be easy. I don't know if I quite understand how hard it would be...haha...but I knew it would be tough. So inevitably, it was a struggle for me in Los Angeles. But something else happened too... I had friends struggling in Metro-Detroit. They struggled to find work, to pay bills, to pay rent... the same struggles I was facing in LA. Well, if you are

REGRET WILL COME TOMORROW IF WE DON'T DESTROY IT TODAY.
REGRET WILL COME TOMORROW IF WE DON'T DESTROY IT TODAY. Right now, there is someone lying in a hospital bed. Their life is coming to an end, maybe they are older or maybe they are your age. They are thinking about their life, they are thinking about the hopes and dreams that they had, that they were afraid to go after, they were afraid of the ridicule, they were afraid of the failure, and now it's too late. Now they lay in this hospital bed, and their last breathe is quickly
